Thinking spots
Sometimes, just sitting in front of the computer and racking your
brain doesn’t work. Get out, move, shift….
• Go to the pub – the best ideas tend to come at the one to two pint
stage. Beer gardens are good. The Uptake Team meets regularly at the
Dulo Bar in Sheffield because it has good music, interesting
(changing) artwork and a relaxed feel. So if we don’t find
inspiration, we don’t care.
• Long train rides are great for looking out of the window and
watching the world. This is often when the brain is freed up for new
stuff to make its way in.
• Sitting and watching – a cup of tea and time to ponder can work
wonders.
If nothing seems to work, then think about asking Uptake in to help
you kick start the creative thinking process. We’ve got all sorts of
exercises and ways to help you sift great ideas from not-so-hot
ones.
